Mother of the Year!

I awarded myself Mother of the Year when we brought this beauty home for Clay.

A Gary Fisher bike found at Goodwill for $60!
(I actually forgot I had seen it until later that evening.
Thankfully, when I remembered, Ryan and I raced back to the store and it was still there!)

Ryan replaced one of the brake cables and an inner tube and Clay was good to go.
Well, after I first took if for a spin.
To be sure it was safe and to show him some tricks.
Okay, no tricks.

This came in well under Clay's budget so he got to pay for the
replacement parts, too, with still some change to spare.

A good day.

Making Friends

I'm not sure I can call this my friend yet, but I'm certainly trying to.

New goal: run at least 2 miles everyday
with Sunday as my rest day - and maybe one other day if I feel I need it.

The photo is today's run and I feel great! This is the farthest I've run on it since the 3.15 I did 2 months ago. I ran 2.5 last Thursday, so I'm getting there. (Btw, if you're ever looking for a free place to log your exercise try here - I really like it!)

Did I ever share how this contraption made it's way into our home?

Well,

Last Fall I had been looking on Craigslist for treadmills. It was a Saturday evening, right around Thanksgiving when Ryan found it. It had only been posted for 10 minutes, so Ryan called on it and within an hour, this baby was in our home.

The best part of all: it had barely been used and was only $65!
(About 1/10th of it's original price.)
