New Styles

I cut Rylee some bangs this morning. Doesn't she look grown up? sniff sniff
I got my hair cut on Saturday. It's more of an A-line although I've been straightening it until I buy a round brush.

Note to self: don't post a picture next to Rylee - she's gorgeous.

Pictures for Grandma

A picture of the kids on (school) picture day.
(Lucy and Olivia didn't want to be left out of the shot.)

However, two days later, we did this to Kaycee and Lucy's hair.

And who could forget this little guy.
I swear he is bigger every morning when he wakes up.

He's 2 months today and I can't get enough of him.
Especially when he about turns him self inside out to give me this:

Couldn't you just eat him?!

And here's Miss Olivia painting this morning. (Can you tell she dressed herself today?)
She didn't paint for very long. I guess she got a little thirsty and started to drink her paint water. . .

What You Can't See

BYU Graduation April 2002

This picture re-surfaced this week - water splattered and all, but it brought a smile to my face. I'm mean, look how young we look! It doesn't seem that long ago, yet at the same time, it feels like it was SO long ago.

You know what you can see in this picture?
Me. Me in my cap and gown.
Standing outside the Marriott Center at BYU.
Ryan & I with our almost 10 month old Rylee.
Me, with my hot husband.

Do you know what you can't see?
Me. The 2nd female in my entire family - my mom's side and my dad's side, who had graduated with a four year degree. The first in my immediate family.
Graduating on time although I'd taken the Fall Semester off after Rylee was born.
Standing with my mom who watched Rylee for hours while I finished my last 3 classes.
Me, 13 weeks pregnant with Clay.
Standing with my husband who was going to school full-time and working full-time - the graveyard shift at a juvenile detention center.

Do you ever wonder how you ever did something, or made it through?

I do.

They Make Me Laugh

Kaycee(singing): Flor-eye, flor-eye, you need glasses to see.
Me: what's that from?
Kaycee: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (the movie).
Me: Oh.
Kaycee keeps singing.
Me: it's actually four eyes, Kace. When people wear glasses, sometimes they're called four eyes.
Kaycee: Glasses would be REALLY hard if you had four eyes!

*******************************************************************

Lucy: Mom, tell Kaycee it's not her job to be mean.
Me: It's no one's "job" to be mean, Lucy.
Lucy: it's your job....and Dad's job...

A few weeks later Lucy was at the pool with my mom.
Another Gma was telling her granddaughter it was time to get out of the pool

Lucy: I don't think that lady was her grandma.
My mom: you don't? (the lady was clearly her gma.)
Lucy: nope. it was her mom. She was mean to her.

*******************************************************************

Kaycee: Mom, Clay kicked me in the nuts!

She's 2!

Miss Olivia Reece

Here's to our spunky, fun-loving, binky-sucking, cute-talking, cereal-chomping,
blankey-carrying, baby-helping, floor-sleeping, tooth-brushing, nap-taking,
most favorite two year old in the world!

Happy Birthday!

I Told You So!

It doesn't take long for our babies to chunk right up.
I told you those cheeks were coming!

Can you believe sweet Henry is 6 weeks old today? I can't.
And frankly, it makes me pretty sad that he's growing so quickly.
He doesn't seem to act his age either. He reminds me of how a 2-3 month old baby would be (and the size of his clothes agree with me).
Sigh . . .
