Today

Our Easter Sunday was a nice day. I was a lot more emotional that day hearing talks in church about death, mortality and the miracle of the Savior's resurrection. I attribute the emotions mostly to throwing up since 4 in the morning, feeling weak and having to participate in two musical numbers, but I hadn't realized that baby Honey would have been born so close to Easter. It was a pleasant reminder of our Heavenly Father's Plan.

This morning KC came into our bed about 10 mins before Ryan's alarm was going to go off at 6am. As I rolled over to make more room for our guest, I was surprised that my mind immediately remembered the date. Today is my due date. It's not like I had forgotten, I knew it was coming up, but I think I was hoping that I would just float through they day, maybe remembering later on. Just moments later, the flood gates opened and so many feelings and emotions that had settled came rising to the surface again. I was certainly not expecting this reaction, and found that although time was healing our hearts, it wasn't hard to be sad all over again.

A few weeks ago in Sunday School, our teacher was asking us about faith building experiences. She began giving us some examples and mentioned to mothers when they hold a new baby in their arms, if they see gimpses of eternity and other great experiences. My eyes immediately welled up and I thought to myself, it was when I was holding a baby that I couldn't have right now that allowed me to see a glimpse into eternity.

I love that we have a Heavenly Father that has a great plan for us. That although we may not understand everything now or how things are going to work out, we know that in the end, everything will be worked out. I love that my kids still speak of baby Honey and how much they miss her. I love how this experience has changed our perspective. I love the picture that hangs over our bed of a little girl securely embraced in the Savior's arms. I love His compassion. I love that I'm okay with letting my emotions go when I think of our sweet, little baby. I love our baby, Honey and I hope we can see her soon.

6. Who said "I love you" first? haha. Ryan did after about 2.5 weeks. "I think I love you." Totally caught me off guard. He is so sweet!

10. Who does the laundry? I do, but Ryan's good to help.

13. Who mows the lawn? Ryan does and we're so happy to have one to mow!


14. Who cooks dinner? We share this task quite a bit. Ryan cooks way better than I do. One of his MANY great talents!

16. Who kissed who first? I was always really nervous about this kind of stuff. It took Ryan about half an hour before I let him kiss me. Not because I didn't want to, but we'd probably been together almost a month and he had stated earlier in the relationship that he wanted his first kiss to be with the woman he was going to marry. (isn't that sweet?) Who would have thought my handsome husband hadn't kissed a girl yet?? He's the BEST!

18. Who asked who out first? Well, this is cheesy, but (my now bro in law) Eric and my sister Reecy had mentioned that Eric's high school lacrosse coach went to BYU. I told him to hook me up with him. They gave Ryan a picture of me and told him to call me. And he did!

20. Who has more friends? We're probably even?
21. Who is more sensitive? we are both fairly sensitive.
22. Who has more siblings? we tie. we both have 6.
23. Who wears the pants? hmmm, you tell me?

Colorado Mammoth

A week ago Saturday, we went to watch the Colorado Mammoth, Colorado's professional indoor lacrosse team. We met up with Mom and Dad Hunt, Carla and Kyle, Aaron and Angela and their friend Kyle. So it was pretty much a family affair.
It was a great time and the kids were troopers being downtown way past their bedtime. They enjoyed cheering the Mammoth on and booing the refs and opposing San Jose Stealth. Unfortunately, we lost, but we still had oodles of fun nonetheless. Ryan and I did learn a valuable lesson though: Don't take young children to a late event downtown the eve before (Spring) Daylight Savings with early church the next day. We made it to church on time, but struggled getting some kids to go to their classes (actually just Clay).

A Shout Out

This is my brother John and his family. As of today, he is officially now a doctor. That's right, another "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?" He defended his dissertation today (clinical psychology) and was approved and we are all so thrilled for him . A huge congratulations to him for all the hard work over the past several years (I think 12 including his undergrad?), and especially to his sweet wife, Mindy and his adorable children, Johnny, Maggie and Josie. Way to go all of you!! We are so proud of you all!

Adoption

We just wanted to send out some quick feelers. We have some wonderful friends in our ward who have just announced that they are trying to adopt a child. They are a great family with four children and have gone through all the preliminary steps to adoption. One thing you may not know, is that for adoptions, the adopting parents must do all of their own "marketing". Essentially, they are responsible for finding their own birth mom (I may be a bit inaccurate, but that is the brunt of the message I got this morning). Please, in your families or with your friends, if you know of a young mother that may be looking for options for her baby, please keep this family in mind. If you have any questions, please let us know by sending us an email and feel free to pass this info along to anyone that may be able to help.

Brand Loyalty

I was listening to the radio last week, and the dj's were asking people if they were loyal to certain brands and if so what, or if people could go generic for most things. I first thought, yep I'm a generic person - really whatever is cheaper. However, as they continued talking, I realized that there are a few things I cannot buy the generic brand of. Here goes:

1. Mac and Cheese: it must be Kraft. Anything else just doesn't taste right.
2. Tissue/Kleenex: Puffs with Lotion. I will not buy any other kind, as all other brands just tear up your nose. Puffs all the way!
3. Diapers: when my babies are first born it's Pamper's Swaddlers all the way. They're so much softer than anything else. All my babes have used them.
4. Laundry Detergent: I haven't found a generic brand yet that I've liked. I prefer my Arm & Hammer.

I'm thinking I'm doing pretty good if I can buy generic of everything else. Some of you may be thinking "aren't some things generic or brand name actually made in the same factories though?" Probably the mac and cheese, but I don't care. It still must be Kraft.

The Best Store

We have a newer grocery store near by that I just love! It's Sunflower Farmer's Market. This place just keeps getting better and better. The kids and I have made it a ritual now to go (or try to go) every Wednesday as it is Double Ad Wednesday, where their ads overlap a day and they have a bunch of groceries on sale. And I'm telling you, this produce is CHEAP, especially considering it's more of a whole foods store. Today, I got peaches for .99/lb the same for gala apples, banana's 2lb for .99, broccoli .88/lb, navel oranges 4lbs (yes 4lbs) for only .99/lb and they have grapefruit 8 for .99 cents!! I wish I liked grapefruit or I would have bought some. You just can't beat these deals!! A lady that was in front of me at the check out, said she comes from a town about 20 miles away because the prices are so good. Last Wednesday, they had large cloth bags for .99 cents so I bought two to find out when I checked out, that I got .10 cents off per bag as a bag credit. And now even better, just today, I found out I get that bag credit every time I use them! I love this place! My kids absolutely love fresh fruit and it disappears quickly at our house, so there's a reason why I go there every week. Love it!
