Adoption

We just wanted to send out some quick feelers. We have some wonderful friends in our ward who have just announced that they are trying to adopt a child. They are a great family with four children and have gone through all the preliminary steps to adoption. One thing you may not know, is that for adoptions, the adopting parents must do all of their own "marketing". Essentially, they are responsible for finding their own birth mom (I may be a bit inaccurate, but that is the brunt of the message I got this morning). Please, in your families or with your friends, if you know of a young mother that may be looking for options for her baby, please keep this family in mind. If you have any questions, please let us know by sending us an email and feel free to pass this info along to anyone that may be able to help.

I have a friend here in the neighborhood who works for an agency that only does african american babies. She has a birth mom that she just got and brought to church yesterday. I don't know if they have a family yet. She get birth mothers all the time. If they want I can hook them up with her. Call me if they want more info. Love ya! ( great store it sounds like you have)

I hope that family gets a baby, I know it is a long process.

Honey, what company are they adopting through? Do they have to get a birth mother lined up or they won't get to adopt???

I'll keep my ears open but my sister in-law and her husband just put their papers in to adopt again through LDS family services, so I'm also hoping they will be blessed with another child. At LDS family services the birth mothers choose the family so it just goes a lot faster if you can find a birth mom instead of waiting through the regular process.

Thanks Maggie, for clarifying that because I'm pretty sure they're going thru LDS Family Services too.
